Description

'Off Road' - Talk by Christian Moczala

Thursday 2nd May, 5pm - Budden Lecture Theatre

If the world becomes smaller and greener, what could architecture be like? The work of B.A.S. Kopperschmidt + Moczala from Dortmund, Germany, explores how improved spatial qualities and developments can be achieved with a reduced use of land, materials and energy. Consequently, we design and implement spaces in a regional scale, respecting the existing genius loci. Thus, nature and landscape play a more important role in design, and conventional architectural tasks give way to new design challenges on a smaller scale. Going “Off road” offers new perceptions of urban spaces and the possibility to discover and create unique places.
